KWIC Internet acquired by Rogers Communications
The Company
KWIS Internet is an established Internet Service Provider (“ISP”) on Ontario, one of the first retail ISPs in Canada founded in 1994. Based on reliability, the company had established loyal subscriber base across both fixed wireless and fibre optic services.
The Divestiture
With the next generation of family members having other career interests, our company was retained to sell the business. We selectively approached the most logical buyers – companies with an established presence in telecommunications positioned to leverage the local brand.
The Results
As announced in January 2022, the business was sold to Rogers Communications, a major industry player expanding its footprint into rural Ontario. From the start of discussions through closure, the divestiture process took six months.
