Cold Stream Foods sold to The Great Canadian Drink Company
The Company
Cold Stream Foods was a privately held distributor of national brand name juice and alternative beverage products serving the Waterloo Region and surrounding areas. Over the years, the company had established a valuable customer list, particularly within the independent class of trade which provided its customers with expanded distribution and sales coverage beyond mainstream grocery and mass merchandiser accounts.
The Divestiture
The owners, nowhere near retirement age, were looking for a career change. For that reason, they decided to sell the business. We approached other beverage distributors in Ontario, the most logical acquirers.
The Results
The business was sold to a beverage distributor in Ottawa. As the purchaser distributed similar products, cost saving opportunities existed through consolidated operations.
