The Company
Bradcan was a privately owned, Ontario based contract manufacturer of Health & Beauty products which also had some of its own brands. The company operated out of its own manufacturing facility in Burlington.
The Divestiture
The owner, a second – generation family me mber, decided to sell the business to pursue a different career path. Before proceeding with the divestiture, our company researched the industry in Ontario and found it to be rapidly consolidating. A sales threshold of about $15 million was required to realize manufacturing efficiencies. Many of the larger manufacturers had underutilized plant capacity. We therefore approached prospective buyers on the platform of consolidating manufacturing operations.
The Results
The business was sold to Kolmar Canada Inc., a subsidiary of Outsourcing Group New York, New York. The entire divestiture process took just four months.
